- Quote requests. When you request a quote from a contractor listing, we collect your name, email, phone number, ZIP code, the service you need, and your timeline, so the request can be routed and answered.
- Contractor accounts. If you register or claim a business, we collect your name, email, phone number, business details, and the evidence you submit to verify ownership.
- Public-record listings. Contractor listings are built from public records, including the Florida DBPR licensing registry. This is public business information, not personal data you gave us.
- Usage data. We collect basic, aggregated analytics (pages viewed, general location, device type) to understand and improve the site. We do not sell this data.
How we use it
We use your information to deliver quote requests to the relevant business, operate and secure your account, verify business claims, respond to your messages, comply with legal obligations, and improve the service. We do not sell your personal information.
Sharing
When you submit a quote request, the details you provide are shared with The Big HVAC Directory and the contractor (or contractors) the request is intended for, so they can contact you. We also use trusted service providers — for hosting, email delivery, payment processing, and analytics — who process data only on our behalf. We may disclose information where required by law.
Your choices
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you can opt out of non-essential communications at any time. Business owners can claim, update, or request removal of a public-record listing. To make any of these requests, contact us.
Data retention & security
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, and we use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
